One of the longest serving Southland Education tutors, Norris has been sharing his expertise for more than 35 years! Often getting excellent results from beginner students, Norris is very open and friendly, putting people at ease with his relaxed manner. His work can be seen all over Southland in people’s homes and businesses most notably the beautiful Leadlights in the Invercargill Central Mall. This involved the removal of the Leadlights from the now demolished Cambridge Arcade which had to be repaired and resized to fit.
He previously worked as an engineer until a back injury ended that career. In recovery he undertook several courses at Southland Polytechnic including the Certificate in Craft and Design, enjoying all that the course had to offer. During the second year of the course, the tutor resigned and Norris was asked to take over, which he did. Since then, he has shared his knowledge and expertise with the Southern Institute of Technology, R.E.A.P Southland and of course Southland Education. He volunteers his time on the Southland Education Executive Committee.
