Southland Workers’ Educational Association Inc. is a founding member of the Federation of WEAs in Aotearoa established in 1915.
Otherwise known as Southland Education, the organisation provides life-long learning opportunities to people of all ages in Invercargill city. A variety of courses are currently available including Art, Dressmaking, Patchwork, Yoga, Woodwork and much more. Weekend courses are also offered, in Upholstery, Mosaics and other topics as requested. Courses are run at the WEA Building, 100 Esk Street, Invercargill or Aurora College, Regent Street, Invercargill.
The Kidzart holiday programme provides a range of Arts workshops at the end of Terms 1 and 3 each year.
The courses are non-assessed and low cost thanks to the generosity of our funding organisations.
